Leaving your voice for the people you love raises real questions: about privacy, about who receives it, and about what happens when you are gone. These are the ones we hear most, with straight answers. More will be added as Mindument grows.
What is SurpassLife?
Every life leaves something behind: a voice in someone’s memory, a story told at the table, a few words that keep coming back. SurpassLife makes software for that part of us. We cannot choose when we leave this world, but we can choose what we leave behind, and now that can include a part of ourselves.
Who is Mindument for?
For adults who want to leave their voice, their stories and their messages for the people they love. It records only the person whose app it is.
Is the likeness really me?
No. It is an AI likeness built from what you recorded, and it is always marked as one. It never claims to be you, and it never makes up a memory, an apology or an admission.
Does it speak in my voice?
Your real recordings play exactly as you made them. Generated speech in your voice is off until separate consent and legal review.
Where are my recordings kept?
On your phone in the current public build. Cloud backup is off; export plain files and keep a safe copy yourself. A future encrypted backup would let our service decrypt a copy for an authorised restore or hand-over.
How do I make sure it reaches my family?
You choose who receives it, with their email and mobile number. When the time comes, they get a private link by email and by text. It opens only with two codes, one sent to their email and one to their phone, and after we verify who they are. Then your Mindument is handed over to their own device. They are never reminded or pushed.
Could someone else open it?
No. The link alone opens nothing. It needs the code from their email and the code from their phone together, and we verify their identity before anything is released. Your recordings reach only the people you chose.
Can I take everything with me?
Yes. At any time you can export everything as plain files: the audio exactly as recorded, the text and a JSON file. You do not need Mindument to open them. You can delete everything, too.
Is it a medical service?
No. Mindument is grief support, not counselling or therapy. If you are in danger, call or text 988 in the US.
How much is it?
